PARISH LIFE
Parish Life focuses on actively caring for and nurturing all in our Christ Church parish family. One of the highlights of this ministry is maintaining and enhancing the hospitality offered at the church. Many parishioners contribute to this goal by hosting weekly coffee hours after our Sunday services, planning special functions such as receptions and dinners, as well as organizing the annual Lenten
dinners, Coventry groups, an annual ministries fair, and the annual parish picnic. Additionally, Parish Life seeks to welcome and incorporate all newcomers into the church. This goal is pursued by providing weekly greeters to meet visitors after our Sunday services as well as hosting biannual dinners to offer newcomers more information about our church and activities. Parish life also contributes to the planning of the annual retreat to Shrine Mont each year which is a wonderful time to spend a relaxing weekend away with your fellow parishioners. The Parish Life committee relies on the volunteer time and talent contributions of many parishioners to carry out its ongoing programs.
How do I become involved?
Mission is the central work of the Church, a God-given task in which we all have a vital roll to play. We welcome the gifts and enthusiasm of all members as together we seek to respond faithfully to God's call.
Please contact the church office to obtain the phone number or e-mail address of a committee chair; speak to one of the clergy; or leave a message in the Treasure Box, Men's Group, Outreach, or Marie Cooper Trust Fund mailboxes. You may also e-mail the church at info@christchurchwinchester.org
As you have sent me into the world, so I have sent them into the world. John 17:18
Men's Group
The Men's Group supports local agencies such as Habitat for Humanity by working on home construction and providing other labor for outreach projects. At Christmas, members support the Salvation Army by collecting donations at local venues. Events include fellowship breakfast meetings, chair-rental for the annual Apple Blossom Festival and the Men's Group Yard Sale, with all proceeds supporting outreach activities.
